Macanudo Reserva launches

Macanudo Reserva Annual 2004 is a limited edition collection cigar made with the very best handselected leaves from the last decade’s growing seasons.

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, the limited edition collection features three frontmarks: Divino (5 inches by 38 ring); Maximo (5.5 inches by 49 ring) and Encanto (6 inches by 49 ring).

Each Reserva Annual cigar begins with a blend of specially selected, richly flavoured Domincian Piloto Cubano and Mexican San Andrean filler leaves from the 1998 crop, which are bound with a mild-to-medium flavoured San Andrean binder cultivated in 1999.

The tobaccos are dressed in a rich, twice-aged Cameroon wrapper, which was harvested from the outstanding 1999 crop. This Cameroon wrapper, developed by the Meerapfel family, is regarded as one of the most prized tobaccos in the world.

Due to the scarcity of the tobacco used in this collection, production is limited to 650 boxes per frontmark. Each hand numbered box will cradle 24 expertly crafted cigars.

Bruce Lewis, director of marketing for owning company General Cigar International, said about the launch: “Macanudo Reserva Annual 2004 is the first release of what will become an annual tradition, embraced the world over by those who understand that some of life’s great pleasures come but once a year.”
